130,000 students flock to classrooms in Bahrain

Bahrain Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi revealed that more than 130,000 students will flock to classrooms in Bahrain (September 7) – as the school year gets into full swing, a report said. Al Nuaimi said that schools would operate normally with no delays from day one, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN). He said that every ministry department and institution has finalised preparations. More than 18,000 administrative, educational and technical staff in government schools have resumed service since the start of this month. They will receive more than 130,000 students, including 10,000 new ones, who have been admitted to grade one of basic education. Dr Al Nuaimi said numerous projects have been launched by the ministry to create and provide jobs for Bahrainis in various disciplines as well as train more than 4,000 teachers. He stressed the ministry considers teachers as pillars of the educational process and is keen to enhance their conditions. He said the total administrative, educational and technical staff reached more than 18,000.
