Manama, Oct.4 (BNA): Information and Parliament Affairs Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi stressed the importance of cooperation between the executive and legislative branches of government to enrich Bahrain’s democratic practices in the framework of the reform project, which was initiated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
He was speaking as he held a work meeting with former Parliament Affairs Minister Ghanim bin Fadhl Al-Bouainain for a handover of responsibilities and duties.
He commended his predecessor for his dedicated efforts to strengthen executive-legislative cooperation as well as his contribution over past years to develop parliament work and diplomatic performance. He paid tribute to Al-Bouainain, describing him as a role model for his dedication, sincerity, probity; national work and cooperation.
Al-Hammadi took pride in the royal trust, stressing firm commitment to the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier so as to strengthen positive cooperation between the Government and the legislative authority.
He pledged to continue constructive cooperation between the executive and legislative branches of government and support the Council of Representatives and Shura Council to exercise their prerogatives on the basis of responsible democratic practices, the constitution and law provisions.
Al-Bouainain congratulated his successor on the royal trust, wishing him every success in serving Bahrain and citizens and projecting landmark achievements in the prosperous era of His Majesty the King in regional and international arenas.
