Al Khatri claims King’s Cup Endurance title

Manama, Feb21(BNA) Fahad Hilal Al Khatri claimed the seniors’ category title in the King’s Cup Endurance Race Championship, organised by the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) and held at the Bahrain International Endurance Village.


The seniors’ ride covered a total distance of 120km and juniors’ event was for 80km, with the participation of a large number of riders from the Bahrain Royal Team and other local stables, and with the follow-up of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman and Bahrain Athletics Association President Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and BREEF President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.

Khatri from Victorious Team was followed by Ghazi Al Dossary from Al Ruood team in second place, while Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa from Al Zaeem Team came third.

Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his pride to attend the race on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, praising the good efforts of BREEF in organising such competitions.

He congratulated the winners of the race, wishing the riders all success in the coming events, and confirmed the great development experienced by the endurance sport in Bahrain under the prosperous era of HM the King.

On this occasion, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad thanked and appreciated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, for his patronage of the race, stressing that this high support formed a great incentive to all riders in order to provide the best levels and great appearance in the strongest race of the season, stressing that the patronage of His Majesty comes in the continuation of the great and unlimited support provided.Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa showed great pleasure for the technical level characteristic that was seen in the race.

He highlighted that its success came after a high level provided by the riders in race.Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad expressed optimism for a bright future capacity in the next races at the local level after excellent results provided by the riders in this race, and stressed that BREEF seeks always to discover talented riders in order to support the ranks of stables and provide an opportunity for different riders to participate in these competitions.

For his part, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad pointed out that HM the King’s Cup has seen great success under the patronage of His Majesty the King, which has had a profound impact on the hearts of all the riders.

He praised the strong and large participation by the riders of the Royal Team and the other local stables who were keen on the presence and participation in the race. He expressed his happiness about the high levels of art made by all the riders, stressing that the heroes who have achieved the first positions all were well-deserved.

Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad expressed satisfaction with the great organisational level of the great efforts made by all the working committees of the tournament.

On his part, BREEF President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid stressed that the patronage of His Majesty has had a positive impact on the race in all respects, noting that it was strong in all stages through high speeds.

He said that BREEF and all its committees were keen to prepare an outstanding race, according to the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad.In the juniors’ category, BREEF General Secretary Assistant Dr. Khalid Ahmed Hassan and Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s Media Office and Information Director Tawfiq Al Salehi crowned the winners of juniors race for a distance of 80km.

The ride was won by Al Khalidiya Stables rider Dana Al Binghadeer. In second place was Zakariya Al Dossary from Al Asayel Stables, while Ahmed Adel, also from Al Asayel, was third.
