Al-Wefaq condemns court rejection to release Nabeel Rajab – Ahlul Bayt News Agency

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) – Bahrain court of Cassation has rejected an appeal to release the prominent HRD Nabeel Rajab. ” the court ordered to adjourn the final hearing until the coming  17th March, the release of Nabeel Rejab was rejected until the courts looks into the appeal ” lawyer Al-Jishi said.

“The  rejection of the appeal indicates the ongoing official  inhuman repressive measures that are being taken against  citizens” Al-Wefaq National Islamic society pointed out.

Al-Wefaq pointed out that Nabeel Rajab has become a national icon inspiring  thousands who have been jailed for their political views. Al-Wefaq calls for an immediate unconditioned release of the prominent prisoner of conscience Head of Bahrain Centre for Human Rights.

Al-Wefaq stated that Nabeel Rajba is being vindictively punished for his courageous  humanitarian stances. Many human rights organizations have called for the release of Nabeel Rajab as stated by the United Nations working group on arbitrary detention which found out that Nabeel Rajab should urgently be released ” In its Opinion A/HRC/WGAD/2013/12, the WGAD considered that the detention of Mr. Nabeel Rajab contravenes “articles 19, 20 and 21 of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights and articles 9, paragraph 1, 14, 21 and 22 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights”.  It stated.
