Al Zaeem Stables win HM King Hamad Endurance Cup

Manama, Feb8(BNA) Under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa , Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation BREEF organised HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Endurance Race Cup at Bahrain International Endurance Village .


Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport SCYS, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and the Honorary Chairman of BREEF HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the First Deputy Chairman of SCYS and Chairman of Bahrain Athletic Association HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa participated in the 120-kilometer race along with the best riders of Bahrain’s stables.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa competed in the first and second stages of the race before he had withdrawn from the competition due to the injury of his horse. He personally awarded the winners and the lucky spectator who won a brand new car.

The first place went to Al Zaeem Stables Rider Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, finishing the race in 04,18,57 time and the speed of 24 km. Winners of the juniors category were also awarded by SCYS Chairman, Yousuf Fuad of Al Khaldiya Stables won the race, finishing off at 05,14,19 time and the speed of 22 km.

On the occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa hailed the patronage of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, affirming that his majesty’s support adds to Bahraini equestrian sports. Furthermore he appreciated the efforts paid by the organising committees and the participants for contributing in the success of the international race.

On his part, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa stated that the different categories of the race were on high technical levels, while the President of BREEF HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa praised HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his auspices, noting that his majesty’s support had its positive effects of on the race. In conclusion, money prizes were distributed among the 31 lucky spectators.
