Manama: Jan. 28 — (BNA) Aluminum Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) continued its celebrations of Bahrain National Day with a spectacular Family Day event, which was held at the Alba Club last Friday corresponding to January 25, 2013. The event was organized by Alba Labor Union in cooperation with the Bahrain National Guard and Alba’s Executive Management.
Alba’s Chief Operations Officer, Isa Al-Ansari, Chief Support Functions Officer, Basem Al-Sharqi as well as the Chairman of Alba’s Labor Union, Ali Al-Binali, inaugurated the daylong event, along with a senior delegation from the Bahrain National Guard.
Also present at the event were senior officials from Alba as well as Alba Labor Union members.
Commenting on Alba Family Day, the Chairman of Alba’s Labor Union, Ali Al-Binali said:
“Alba’s workers are proud of the support Bahrain’s political leadership has given to citizens in general and the labor community in particular. This support has proved to be an inspiring force and given us the strength to perform our duties to the best of our abilities, contribute to the economy and emerge as productive citizens. The Alba Labor Union considers it a privilege to organize the Family Day as it gives Alba workers and their families the opportunity to express our loyalty and affection to Bahrain and its leaders. I take this opportunity to express our utmost gratitude and appreciation to the National Guard’s Commander His Highness Lt-General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa; and to the Staff Director Major-General Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, for the National Guard’s support in making this event a major success”.
Alba’s Chief Support Functions Officer, Basem Al-Sharqi added:
“The company owes its success to the visionary directives of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s wise political leadership in setting up the Middle East’s first aluminum smelter. The Family Day provides us an opportunity to include our families in a celebration of gratitude to Bahrain’s leadership for enabling Alba to shine as a symbol of strength for Bahrain’s industrial sector”.
The Alba Family Day – open for Alba employees and their families – included lots of fun, games and entertainment activities including live music, pottery, face-painting, henna and pony-riding. It also featured regular visits for employees’ families to Alba plant as well as a number of health and safety awareness activities. Food and refreshments were also served to everyone as well as gifts to employees’ children.(IY)
