Jun 19, 2013 (Menafn – AME Info – McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) –TWO BAHRAIN HOSPITALS RECEIVE ACHSI ACCREDITATION: The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI) has accredited two Bahrain-based hospitals, KIMS Bahrain Medical Centre (KBMC) and the Royal Bahrain Hospital (RBH). The accreditation was given after both the private medical units met the requirements of the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, said the ACHSI.
ABU DHABI INCLUDES ROTAVIRUS VACCINE INTO IMMUNISATION PROGRAMME: The Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD) has decided to include the Rotavirus vaccine into the childhood immunisation programme for children at the age of two months and four months, Wam has reported. Rotavirus is the most common cause of severe childhood diarrhoea worldwide and of diarrheal mortality in poor countries. Currently there are two types of Rotavirus vaccine available in Abu Dhabi, both of which are effective and safe, said HAAD. One type is given in two doses and the other in three doses. Parents have to make sure that their children continue with the same type, the regulator said.
