MANAMA, Jan 16 (Bernama) — Bahrain-based AMJ Projects W.L.L plans to expand its ‘BreadTalk’ bakery franchise in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to 24 outlets in 2014 from its current 11 outlets in the region.

Chairman Dr Mohammed A. Juman said the expansion was in line with the company’s intention to bring up BreadTalk’s other brands in the region and demand for the brand.

BreadTalk has eight other brands under its umbrella including Toast Box, a kopitiam-concept restaurant.

“We are going to grow it because BreadTalk has several brands. We want to start working with them on the other brands. One of them is Toast Box. That is our investment in Bahrain.

“We have seen people coming from Tunisia and Libya enquiring about the brand. People are pushing into retail now. BreadTalk is a strong brand, that is one of the most popular retail brand,” he told Bernama.

Singapore bakery listed BreadTalk Group Ltd inked a 12-country Middle East Master Franchise agreement with its Bahraini partner, Pan Arabian Gourmet, in 2009 .

AMJ Projects is an investment company involved in diversified areas including retail, real estate and aviation.
