Amlak, the real estate investment arm of the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO), has announced the start of the second phase of Bahrain Marina, with the award of new contracts.
The planned development stretches along the coastline in Manama and is expected to be completed during 2020, a statement said.
It added that the mixed-use project will include five star luxury hotel and serviced apartments along with freehold apartments and waterfront villas, shopping mall, family entertainment and educational centre and a recreational waterfront space with dining and retail spaces.
“We are pleased with the progress made so far on the Bahrain Marina Development Project; further reiterating Amlak ‘s commitment in developing a world-class facility. We have also appointed the most experienced consultants to drive forward next phase of the ambitious project,” said Amlak’s CEO, Mr Mohamed Abdulelah Al Kooheji.
“The second phase of the project focuses on two main aspects – clearing the existing site and finalising the detailed masterplan in order to move forward into the development phase. The team will also be conducting a number of on-site studies including extensive marine studies,” he added.
Amlak confirmed the appointment of Benoy as the lead designer who has previously worked on the Yas Island master plan, Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi and The Beach in Dubai, while project management has been awarded to Bruce Shaw.
