Andrew W.K. is now officially the ambassador of partying

Andrew W.K., best known for party-rocking his way into the music scene with singles like “Party Hard” and “It’s Time to Party,” has found a new job: cultural ambassador to Bahrain. We learned about this on Pitchfork, so we’re not sure what to make of this diplomatic development. Yes, the host of Cartoon Network’s “Destroy Build Destroy” will be travelling to the Middle East to spread the glory of American culture. As W.K.’s website explains, the singer will “visit elementary schools, the University of Bahrain, music venues, and more, all while promoting partying and world peace.” While the rocker may not seem like a natural diplomat, you’d be hard pressed to find a more authoritative voice on partying, so he may actually be well-suited to the job.
