Andrew WK named Cultural Ambassador to the Middle East, presumably will tell …

Andrew WK

Andrew W.K. will travel to Bahrain next month as part of his new role as Cultural Ambassador to the Middle East, as appointed by the US Department of State. The singer, real name Andrew Wilkes-Krier, will travel to the region in December to promote (and we’re not making this up) “partying and positive power”.

His website states that he will first visit local schools in the region, followed by trips to the University of Bahrain and music venues, all with the goal of promoting world peace. Frankly, we can’t think of anyone better for the job.

Speaking of his new role, W.K. said: “This is a tremendous invitation. I’m very thankful to the Department of State for giving me the opportunity to visit a place I’ve never been before. I feel very privileged and humbled by the chance to represent the United States of America and show the good people of Bahrain the power of positive partying.”

This new role comes just a month after the newly appointed Cultural Ambassador delivered a motivational speech to a My Little Pony convention in Ohio.

Again, we’re not making any of this up.
