New Zealand Football is set to announce Anthony Hudson as the new coach of the All Whites at a press conference in Auckland today.

The Englishman will take over from Ricki Herbert after a year in charge of Bahrain’s national team.

Hudson, 33, coached Bahrain to four wins, five draws and three losses but couldn’t qualify the Asian nation for the 2014 World Cup.

Herbert’s assistant, Neil Emblen, who coached the All Whites on an interim basis this year, is expected to be named his assistant.

Hudson and Emblen were scheduled to meet last night ahead of today’s 11am announcement.

Hudson won the job ahead of Australians Frank Farina and Gary van Egmond and Emblen.

The All Whites next match is against Uzbekistan in Tashkent on September 8.
