Sunday 16th March sees the opening of the F1 season at the Australian Grand Prix. Practice and qualifiers take place on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th with the race set for Sunday morning.

With the opening of the season, all eyes are on Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing who took his 4th consecutive win in 2013. But there are other contenders to look out for including Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso. McLaren’s Jenson Button has three Australian Grand Prix titles under his belt so things could really heat up.

Renault has admitted to technical challenges during the summer after not completing the program in Bahrain. Lotus has not expressed much confidence in their ability to excel in the Australian Grand Prix after also hitting technical difficulties in Bahrain. On the flip side, Mercedes and Williams showed their mettle in Bahrain during testing.

With only two weeks left of preparation before the opening of the season in Australia, it’s anyone’s game, but let’s not forget this is the first race of the season and championships are not won with a single race.

For those of you who would like to test their luck and bet on the race, some info from the bookies:
Top Favorites Current Odds:
