Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayyeb reiterated Al-Azhar’s support for Bahraini unity and stability.

In a telephone call with Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the Grand Imam expressed Al-Azhar’s readiness to cooperate with Bahrain in the education and preaching fields, as well as training Bahraini clerics on countering extremist thought and tackling modern issues that emerged in Arab and Muslim countries.

The Bahraini King praised the leading role of el-Tayyeb in bringing about peace, and expressed his pleasure and appreciation to him over his call, saying he was a respected symbol to all Muslims.

King Hamad also hailed ties between Bahrain and Egypt and the strenuous efforts exerted by Azhar to counter extremism and terrorism.
