Azhar Imam invited by Bahraini King to civilizations dialogue

Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayyeb received an invitation from Bahrain’s King to attend a conference on dialogue among civilizations, which will be held in Manama in May.

Tayyeb is invited to deliver the key speech of the conference.

The invitation came during a meeting between Tayyeb and Bahrain’s Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Sheikh Khaled bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

The meeting tackled ways to address cultural problems facing Arabs and Muslims. Tayyeb stressed the importance of dialogue among all citizens across the Arab world.

For his part, the Bahraini minister praised the role played by al-Azhar as the terms of reference of the Islamic world.
