Bahrain Arabian Horseshow kicks off

Manama, Dec. 23 (BNA): Bahrain Arabian Horseshow kicked off on Wednesday at the Military Sports Federation in Al Araffa, Sakhir. The two-day event was jointly organised by Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) and Bahrain Horse Society (BHS).


The contest witnessed strong competition between the participants who were categorised in accordance to the age groups of the horses. The groups included mares born between 01/10/2014 and 30/06/2015, consisting of two categories (A B) and two categories (A B) of mares born between 01/10/2013 and 30/09/2014.

The two categories of the first group were dominated by mares Rayan Al Rayahi owned by Al Rashidiya Stables and Ja Murjana that is owned by Al Shehab Stables, scoring 90.5 and 89.38 points respectively.

As for the second group, mare De Sabta that of owned by Abdulraoof Ashkanani won the first place of the A category scoring 90.75 points, while the first position of category B was claimed by mare Ghadder Al Nibras that is owned by Mahmood scoring 91 points.

Thursday’s competitions will begin at 3 PM and will include mares born between 01/10/2014 and 30/06/2015, mares born between 01/10/2012012 and 30/09/2013, stallions aged between 4 to 6 years, stallions aged between 7 to 8 years and finally for stallions aged 9 years and above.

Bahrain Arabian Horseshow comes after being successfully held in the previous few years and is supported by the platinum sponsor Al Rashidiya Stables, golden sponsor Al Jasmi Stables, silver sponsor Al Shakhoora Stables and bronze sponsors Al Manama Stables, Al Jazeera Stables from Kuwait, Al Wawan Stables from Kuwait, Al Jazeera Stables from the UAE, Al Nibras Stables, Al Ameer Stables and Al Salam Stables from Kuwait. Al Aali added that the event will be open for the public to attend.
