Bahrain: Bani Jmara residential area sieged for 10 hours – Ahlul Bayt News Agency

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) – The regime in Bahrain sieges the residential area of Bani Jmara, west of the capital Manama, for 10 hours starting from Wednesday night until Thursday morning 30th May, 2013.

All entrances and exits were blocked with patrols and armored vehicles, while the regime forces practiced collective punishment against the residents of the area.
The siege sealed off the area for more than 10 hours with the helicopter flying low over houses. A huge number of armored vehicles and civilian cars backed the troops as they deployed.

Sadly, as students are getting ready to take their final exams, many houses were subjected to terrifying night raids in which 10 citizens were arrested, a number of them from one house.

However, no details and accurate information from independent sources on the Interior Ministry’s allegations are available. Therefore, there is a crucial need for an independent commission to investigate all details.

Concerns over the situation of the arrested citizens are increasing. Families of the arrested have not been able to get information on the types of accusations they face, given that they were arrested in house raids not on streets.
