Bahrain condemns Beirut’s bombing

Manama, December 27 (BNA) –The Kingdom of Bahrain condemned the bombing near a government complex in the centre of the Lebanese Capital Beirut that killed and wounded innocent people, and resulted in the death of former Minister of Finance Mohammed Chatah.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said that “the Kingdom of Bahrain stresses that such criminal acts are contrary to all the humanitarian values and would cause the region to slide into chaos and instability.”

Bahrain called on all Lebanese political leaders to be cautious and to exercise the highest levels of restraint in order not to give an opportunity to those who attempt to tamper with the security and stability of Lebanon and to protect the country from the repercussions of this criminal act that aims to foment sedition and push it to slide into chaos and violence, the statement said.

Bahrain expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the victims, wishing speedy recovery for the injured. The Kingdom renewed its steady stance of rejecting violence under all its forms and regardless of its sources and motives.
