Manama, Jan.10(BNA): Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Chairman Khalid Abdulrahman Almoayyed received new Egyptian Ambassador Suha Ibrahim Mohammed Rifaat and hailed deep-rooted bilateral relations.
He underlined the pivotal role of private sector in bolstering partnership between the two countries, stressing the importance of enhancing the volume of trade exchanges. Citing updated external commerce indices released by the Central Informatics Organisation (CIO), he said the overall volume of exchanges stood at $52.5 million last November.
The meeting was attended by BCCI First and Second Deputy Chairman Othman Sharif Al-Rayyes and Jawad Youssef Al-Hawaj, board member and head of the Bahraini side in the joint business council Afnan Al-Zayani, board member Ahlam Youssef Janahi and administrative officials.
Almoayyed stressed the importance of bolstering joint economic cooperation, pointing out the need to activate the role of the joint business council so as to boost bilateral commercial ties. The Egyptian envoy also lauded deep-rooted historic relations, stressing her country’s keenness on developing economic and trade cooperation with Bahrain and intensifying exchanged business visits.
