Bahrain exhibitions industry booming

Manama, May 11 (BNA): The CEO of First Target Events Management, Yousef Dawood, said the exhibitions industry in the Kingdom enjoys a lot of government-provided facilitations, for traders, consumers and visitors from abroad.

He said the exhibitions sector is a promising industry which aspires for further development and prosperity in the foreseeable future.


Dawood told Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that the Exhibitions City which is planned to be constructed in Sakhir Area will especially contribute to development of the specialised exhibitions and conferences industry, and the provision of vast display areas at affordable rates.


He said the national economy is the prime beneficiary from the boom in the exhibitions industry, as well as the benefit of the tourism sector to a great extent from this vital sector. He expressed high hopes that there will be more specialized exhibitions including direct sales and the provision of more governmental facilitations to local and overseas investors.

He praised the success of commercial openness, economic freedom in the Kingdom thanks to the reforms of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa which contributed to boosting competitiveness and diversity of promotional offers aimed to provide all sorts of commodities at affordable prices. He commended the attractive investment environment in Bahrain and everybody’s desire to showcase their products in the highly-competitive local market.
He said a “domestic products” exhibition will be held in January 2016, and invitations will be extended to the greatest number of investors from inside Bahrain and abroad.

He said Fashion Time Show will be organized in the Bahrain International Exhibition Convention Centre (BIECC) on June 25-27 which coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, with participation of 128 exhibiters on a total display space of 35000 square metres, including local and international agencies and productive family sections .

The exhibition will showcase all necessities of Eid Al-Fitr for citizens and residents, including clothes, accessories, perfumes, fashion at different prices according to product quality.

On the side of the exhibition, there will be a fashion show, with an expected number of 5000 visitors representing all community strata and GCC citizens.

The second edition of the Modern Home Exhibition will be hosted in January 2016 which will be different from its first edition in terms of participants, quality of supplies and exhibition items. There will be 120 exhibiters compared with 70 exhibiters in the previous version. There will be more advertising outside Bahrain, especially targeting the Saudi consumer market.
