Bahrain Falconry Championship attracts 1500 contenders

Manama, Dec. 28 (BNA): Following the directives of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, the third edition of Bahrain Falconry Championship will kickoff on the 7th of January and will continue to the 6th of February in Al Sabkha area near Bahrain International Endurance Village. The championship is organised in cooperation with Nasser Bin Hamad Foundation.


Chairman of the Supreme Committee of Bahrain Falconry Championship Khalifa Al Gaoud announced that registration for the championship began on Sunday and will be closed on Tuesday.

He affirmed that contesters’ personal attendance is required to complete the registration forms at Bahrain International Endurance Village between 2 PM and 6 PM, adding that those who didn’t complete the registration procedures will not be allowed to compete in the championship.

Mr. Al Gaoud said the committee adopted a new registration method this year which is the electronic registration that was announced earlier between the first and 25th of December.

He stated that 1500 contesters registered for the championship this year, including 600 from Bahrain and 900 others from GCC countries.

Mr. Al Gaoud said the championship comes to continue the efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to implement the visions and directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to preserve the long-standing national heritage of the Kingdom of Bahrain and fostering it among youngsters, and at the same time to promote the protection of wildlife.
