Bahrain Golf: Lane team claim trophy

Rob and Debbie Lane, Mohamed Akeel and Dimitar Zlateviski clinched first place in a new charity golf tournament created by Royal Golf Club’s 2015 Ladies Captain Anne Quintino.

They scored 57 points which included three “FootGolf” points achieved on the specially adapted 11th hole.

Instead of playing regular golf on that hole, all competitors had to sink a football into an enlarged “FootGolf” cup instead.

The tournament was a great success with over 100 golfers competing in the fun Texas Scramble tournament and over 120 guests attending the evening dinner and charity auction.

Lady Captain Quintino’s team, consisting of Jim Doig, Alex Joannides and Emmanuel Lantzos were runners-up with 53 points on countback while the team of Terri Dowhy, Stacey Andrews, Yaver Rashid and Gavin Campbell were third with the same score.
