Manama: Abdellatif Ait Hsine claimed first place with a total time of 1:39:48 in the Bahrain Road Runners Grand Prix which concluded yesterday morning.
The Grand Prix, which consisted of three races – 5km, 10km, and 15km – took place in a span of three weeks, on Friday mornings.
The races took place at Al Ghous Park in Muhharaq between Novotel and King Hamad University Hospital.
Hsine managed to finish the first 5km race with a time of 16 minutes and 7 seconds and took 33 minutes and 15 seconds for the second (10km) race.
His last race yesterday saw him finish in 50 minutes and 26 seconds.
In second place came Mubarak Al Sulati who finished the 5km race in 17 minutes and 8 seconds. He went on to clock 36 minutes and 30 seconds in the 10km race and 52 minutes and 17 seconds in the final 15km race to record a total time of 1:45:55.
Andrew O’Reilly finished in third place with a total time of 1:56:01.
O’Reilly managed a time of 18 minutes and 24 seconds in the first race, 38 minutes and 50 seconds in the second and 58 minutes and 47 seconds in the third race.
BRR PR representative Suad Al Moayed said, “The race attracted more than 230 runners and was a huge success.”
