MUSCAT — The working committees of the Gulf Cup tournament yesterday toured Bahrain’s National Stadium, which will host the opening ceremony of the 21st edition of region’s premier football event. According to a press release received from the organisers from Manama yesterday, Executive Committee member Shaikh Ali bin Kahlifa was among the representatives of various committees who reviewed the maintenance project.
During the visit, Technical Affairs Committee, the Media Committee, the Stadiums Committee, the Security Committee, the Ceremony Committee and the Public Relations Committee presented their detailed plans in facilitating all the required services to each relevant area to lead a great success to the prestigious tournament. Meanwhile, the official booklet for the tournament titled The Gulf Cup… From Birth to Glory will be distributed during the much-awaited football event which kicks off next Saturday.
The book highlights the history of the tournament since its inception in Bahrain in 1970 until this edition, which is being in the capital city of Manama, for the fourth time. The book also contains detailed statistical information about all the Gulf Cup tournaments, which could be used as a main reference to the sports media industry.
The book was prepared under the supervision of the head of the Media Committee Tawfeeq Al Salhi and prepared by a team of professionals, including Press and Publications Committee chief Mahmood Bahran, Hussain al Asfoor and Hassan Mansoor.
