The Board of Director of
Bahrain Islamic Bank
has announced the appointment of Mr. Hassan Ameen Jarrar as Chief Executive Officer of the bank, starting from the 1st of July 2015.
On this occasion, Chairman of the bank Mr. Abdul Razzaq Al Qassim stated “In my name and on behalf of the Board of Directors, I welcome Mr. Hassan Ameen Jarrar as CEO of the bank, wishing him every success in his new position.
Mr. Abdul Razzaq Al Qassim added “Mr. Hassan Ameen Jarrar is considered as one of the most prominent banking leaders in the banking sector. He has an experience of 26 years, gained from his numerous leadership positions in major banking institutions inside and outside of Bahrain. Some of these are Standard Chartered Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Al Mashreq Bank, Union Bank in Jordan, and Bank of America – California.
Mr. Abdul Razzaq Al Qassim stated that Mr. Hassan Ameen Jarrar has many academic qualifications including as Bs. C. in Business Administration from Saint Jos University in the United States of America.
Concluding, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Al Qassim confirmed the Board of Director’s commitments to provide all the necessary support to the new CEO, wishing him all the success in his new role, and also commending the efforts of Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Janahi during his role as Acting CEO in the previous period, wishing him all the success in his new position as Deputy CEO.
From his side, Mr. Hassan Ameen Jarrar expressed his satisfaction and pleasure in joining this reputable institution and emphasizing the Bank’s ability to maintain its name and withstand the difficult market crises in the near past. He pointed out that there are still a number of hurdles to be addressed by this reputable institution so as to maintain its outstanding status. In this regard Mr. Hassan confirmed that he will work with the Board of Directors to benefit from the Bank’s legacy in consolidating its position locally and globally through his vast experience and connections in the banking and investment business sector with renowned global banks. Mr. Hassan Jarrar affirmed that he is confident that BisB will assume an active role in the Islamic Banking field through continuing of perfecting its systems and services and the development and refining of its products so as to enhance its role and status in the local and regional markets.
