Manama, July 24 (BNA): Bahrain Jurists Society (BJS) condemned repeated Iranian statements against Bahrain and described the hostile stances as a flagrant interference in the Kingdom’s internal affairs and a trespass on international norms and covenants which stipulate respect of countries’ sovereignty.
In a statement yesterday, the association urged a strong unified national stance in order to put an end to flagrant Iranian interference in Bahrain’s internal affairs. “Neither Khamenei nor any other official from the Iranian regime is a guardian of the people of Bahrain who will remain loyal forever to its wise leadership”, it said.
“The Iranian regime is pursuing its irresponsible policy to destabilise neighbouring countries, foment sectarian strife, stir unrest and fuel tensions instead of focusing on improving the living conditions of the persecuted Iranian people”, it added.
The association said that it is totally unacceptable to keep silent on foreign interference from any side, pointing out that Bahrainis need no guardian from abroad. “No patriotic citizen can keep silent on the attempts of a foreign country to violate the sovereignty of his homeland or accept the direct and indirect threats against his nation”, the BJS statement said. “Now is the time for all people to voice their rejection of these arrogant interference in our internal affairs”, it added.
