Bahrain king’s wife greets Sheikha Fatima on Emirati Woman’s Day

MANAMA: Sheikha Sabika Bint Ibrahim Khalifa, wife of the King of Bahrain, has congratulated Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, on Emirati Woman’s Day, which is being observed on Friday.

She commended the initiative of Sheikha Fatima to dedicate a day for Emirati woman, citing huge her contributions to advance the woman’s cause in the UAE.

In a congratulatory cable, Sheikha Sabika expressed her heartfelt greetings on the occasion to celebrate the efforts of Emirati women and their conscription into the armed forces, as well as marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the General Women Union. While extending her greetings to all Emirati women, she expressed the keenness of Bahraini women to share the joy with their Emirati counterparts, as well as acquaint themselves with the progress being made by Emirati women. She wished Sheikha Fatima many more successes.
