Bahrain: Konkani community to hold Wilfy Nite on May 28

Bahrain, Mar 11: There is a special news for music enthusiasts in Bahrain. Wilfy Nite is scheduled to be held on May 28 at Our Lady of Arabia auditorium, in memory of legendary Konkani singer-composer the late Wilfy Rebimbus.

Konkani community from Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Bahrain, in addition to its music interest, has a special cause to hold Wilfy Nite. The Konkani musical extravaganza is being organized in support of the New Cathedral building at Awali.

Family of Konkan Kogull the late Wilfy Rebimbus, Meena, Veena and Vishwas accompanied by renowned musician Joswin Pinto will perform at the Wilfy Nite.

The evening will have a lot of entertainment with a feast of the greatest Konkani melodies composed by Wilfy Rebimbus. Hilarious comedy skits will be staged in between the songs by ‘Trio from Kuwait’ comprising Jaison Lasrado, Lancy Rodrigues and Stephen Machado. Variety of dances by a group of youngsters will be an added attraction.

The event will be compered by award winning master of ceremony Ronald Olivera Padukone.

Date and Time: On Tuesday May 28, 2015 at 7.30 pm.

Venue: Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium, Sacred Heart Church, Manama.

The organizers have said that transport will be arranged to Isa town, Riffa, Budaiya and Muharraq after the show for parishioners.
