Bahrain, Lithuania reaffirm support to Yemen

NEW YORK, Sep. 26 (Saba)- Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs Khaled Ben Ahmad Al Khalifa and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius reaffirmed their country’s support to Yemen to complete the transfer.

In separated meetings for Minister of Foreign Affairs Jamal al-Sallal with the two ministers on Friday on the sidelines of participation in the UN General Assembly’s meetings are being held here, the two ministers confirmed their countries’ support to President Hadi to implement the National Dialogue Conference’s (NDC) outcomes and boosting the state’s capacities.

Minister al-Sallal briefed Al Khalifa and Linkevičius on the latest developments in Yemen after signing the Peace and Partnership Agreement between political parties. The y all confirmed necessary commitment by all signatory parties to the agreement and their work on implementing it away of violence and weapons.

On the other hand, Minister al-Sallal discussed with Assistant Director of US Agency for International Development Mark Fairstein and discussed with him current conditions in Yemen, especially security in Sana’a and the rest governorates and steps taken by the government to implement the NDC’s outcomes.

The two Lithuania discussed obstacles facing the government on heading towards the full implementation of the outcomes, which approved by all political parties.

While the US official talked about the difficulties facing the implementation of the agency’s aid programs in Yemen because of unstable security situation in the country, al-Sallal demanded doubling US efforts and assistances to Yemen, which the country badly needs them under these conditions.
