Bahrain’s first female councillor Fatima Salman, who also made history by becoming the first municipal council member in the GCC, died yesterday.

Bahrain’s first female councillor Fatima Salman, died yesterday after a long battle with cancer.

She served as the councillor in Busaiteen from 2010 to 2014, reported The Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Salman also made history becoming the first municipal council member in the GCC, it stated.
