London, July 20 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today attended the graduation ceremony of his son, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa from King’s College London.
His Royal Highness congratulated His Highness Shaikh Mohammed on his graduation from King’s College and obtaining a Bachelor’s degree with honours in War Studies. His Royal Highness highlighted His Highness Shaikh Mohammed’s efforts throughout his studies, noting his diligence and perseverance on the high recognitions he has received.
His Royal Highness then extended his best wishes to His Highness Shaikh Mohammed, wishing him a prosperous future dedicated to the service of the Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad. His Royal Highness also expressed his pride of all Bahraini’s and their commitment to education, noting its importance in the development of our society and the prosperity of the Kingdom.
In response, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed extended his appreciation and gratitude to His Royal Highness on the support and guidance he received from him throughout his academic journey.
His Highness also thanked the administrative and teaching staff at King’s College on the support and cooperation they extend to all students at the University.
His Highness added that he looks forward to continuing his academic journey and his aspiration to serve the Kingdom of Bahrain on all fronts, underscoring his commitment to the development of the Kingdom across all sectors under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad.
Shaikh Ali bin Ahmed Al Khalifa also participated in the graduation ceremony, receiving a master’s degree from the College.
Following the ceremony, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed and Shaikh Ali exchanged congratulations and best wishes on the completion of their degrees.
A number of Senior members of the Royal Family attended the ceremony.
Born on November 11, 1991, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed is the second son of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
After completing his primary education at Ibn Khuldoon National School, His Highness went on to graduate from Bahrain School in 2009.
After graduation, His Highness joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as an officer cadet on 9 June 2010. His Highness was awarded with Prince Saud Bin Abdullah’s Prize for Academic Excellence and the Communication and Applied Behavioral Science Prize upon his graduation on April 15, 2010.
On April 15, 2010, His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Bahrain Defence Force commissioned His Highness Shaikh Mohammed as a Second Lieutenant in the Bahrain Defence Force.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed then trained for one year with the British Army, serving in Her Majesty the Queen’s Royal Lancer’s Brigade, before joining the Bahrain Defence Force Royal Armory Unit.
On May 9, 2015, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed was promoted to Lieutenant and received the Order of Magnanimity.
His Highness is a recent graduate from the War Studies department at King’s College London. His Highness is now focused on work which preserves the cultural and historical heritage of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed is an accomplished horseman and marksman; he also enjoys reading and swimming.
