Bahrain News Agency | Traveler with 2059.7 grams Marijuana arrested

Manama, July 24 (BNA): Director of Air Ports Customs has announced that the department’s officers at the Bahrain International Airport have arrested a foreign traveler with a substance suspected to be marijuana weighing 2059.7 Grams that were folded in plastic bags inside a wooden music instrument.

The suspect arrived to the customs hall with a handbag and then he took his other two bags and went to the green lane. An officer asked him to move to the red lane and the instrument attracted suspicions and the substance was discovered through the x-ray device.

The suspect was arrested and handed to the Anti-narcotics Directorate at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science for legal proceedings, in order to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
