Bahrain participates at WHO’s experts meeting

Manama, Oct. 1 — (BNA): Health Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Primary and Public Healthcare, Dr. Mariam A. Al-Jalahma, participated at the meeting of World Health Organisation (WHO)’s experts to discuss global indices of teenage health.
The meeting also discussed 100 indices related to teenage health, including nutritional, psychological, sexual health and enhanced healthy lifestyles.

The indices were reviewed on the basis of expert views and other regional and international indices such as the indices of the East Mediterranean, UNICEF, United Nations, Africa and Asia. The experts during agreed on definition of 28 key indices on the basis of index efficacy, importance and measurability.

The also agreed on definition of the most important indices to include the rates of mortality caused by road accidents, maternity , acquired immuno-deficiency syndrome (AIDS), obesity and underweight, iron deficiency anemia and physical exercise.
