Manama, May. 28. (BNA) — Assistant Undersecretary for Exits, Search and Follow up Brigadier-General Yusuf Ahmed Al Ghatam headed Bahrain’s Nationality, Passports Residence delegation to the 28th Meeting of GCC Directors-General for Passports, Naturalisation and Residency Departments, which was held in Riyadh on May 26-27, 2014.
The panel discussed the mechanisms to implement the decisions of the Interior Ministers in order to develop the performance of the Nationality, Passports Residence affairs’ specialised bodies and facilitate the movement of GCC citizens and residents.

It also reviewed the draft agenda prepared and approved by the General Secretariat, which included several topics like unifying the procedures for a lost passport or national identity of GCC nationals.

It discussed organising programmes and workshops to activate GCC Passports Week and include the recent systems and procedures so as to benefit GCC citizens and residents, with the participation of experts and media speakers at the passports directorates.

Bahrain’s delegation comprised Exits Director Shawqi Mohammad Al Subai’ee, Nationality Director Issa Abdulla Turki, Acting Head of the Research and Follow up Department Major Talal Nabeel and Chief of E-boarders Thabit Mohamed Al Sherooqi.
