Manama, Feb. 7. (BNA) –Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee at the Shura Council, Jameela Ali Salman participates in the meeting of the executive committee for Women Parliamentarians at Association of Senates Shura Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab world.
The meeting is held in the Sudanese Capital Khartoum tomorrow Saturday, where they discuss the work plans to enable women economically and inheriting the culture of solidarity among women in Africa and the Arab world.
They will also discuss creating joint cohesion mechanisms between the Arab and African parliamentarians to achieve peace and development, in addition to urging the parliamentarians to work on alphabet and technical literacy, and to reduce poverty in general, in addition to the poverty of Arab and African women in particular.
The meeting will also discuss women’s parliamentary role in enhancing social change, and ways to implement the recommendations that will emerge from the meeting.
