Crowds of visitors flocked to the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) booth at the recently-concluded 2016 Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) staged at Sakhir Airbase.

High-ranking officials from different ministries and other state officials visited the committee’s booth during the three-day event.

Among senior visitors to the booth were Information Affairs minister Isa Al Hammadi, BOC board member Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Isa Abdulrahim and BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar.

Besides offering booklets and other publications on the programmes, activities and achievement of the BOC, the committee also took the opportunity to promote the third edition of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sport.

“The committee’s participation at the BIAS 2016 was in line with its strategy to activate community partnership with various government and private parties to promote the role of the committee in the Bahraini community and expanding recreational sports,” said Askar. 

Askar said he was pleased with the feedback of the visitors and congratulated the kingdom’s leadership on the success of the airshow.

The BOC general secretary also commended the efforts of the organising committee, headed by His Majesty the King’s Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
