Bahrain sport: DHL Rugby A hold off BMMI Dilmun A

DHL Rugby ‘A’ defeated BMMI Dilmun ‘A’ 31-12 last night in the second round of the DHL Bahrain Expatriate’s Netball League at British Club. 

It was the second game of the first division title which also sees British Club ‘A’ and British Club ‘B” compete for the title. 

Wing attack of DHL Rugby ‘A’ Sarah Hobday claimed the player of the match award from her team while Kianna Lehh, who plays as a wing defence for BMMI Dilmun ‘A’, claimed the award from her team-mates. 

The second match of the division saw British Club ‘A’ record a 30-11 victory over British Club ‘B’. 

The player of the match awards went to goal attacker Claire Van Minnen from British Club ‘A’ and centre Chantel Cull from British Club ‘B’. 

The Divison 2 matches also took place last night at the same venue. 

This division saw BMMI Dilmun, GNT Sri Lanka, DHL Rugby ‘B’ and BMMI Dilmun C compete for the title.

In a one-sided match, BMMI Dilmun ‘B’ outplayed GNT Sri Lanka 29-6. 

Wing attacker of BMMI Dilmun ‘B’, Tamara Salman, claimed the player of the match award from her team while Jennifer Bhaskaran, who plays as a goal attacker for GNT Sri Lanka, put in a wonderful performance to claim it for her team. 

The last match of the night saw DHL Rugby ‘B’ record an easy 20-3 victory over BMMI Dilmun ‘C’. 

Player of the match awards went to Billy Jo English, wing defender of BMMI Rugby ‘B’, and Saja Kabalaoui, goal defence of BMMI Dilmun ‘C’. 

The third-round fixtures will take place at Rugby Club in Saar on February 9.
