Bahrain Sports: Mottit stars as Dilmun A win in netball league

BMMI Dilmun B went down to BMMI Dilmun A 42-6 during yesterday’s fourth week fixtures of the Bahrain Expatriate Netball League at the Dilmun Club.

BMMI Dilmun A managed to finish the first quarter ahead 11-0 before extending the lead to 23-1 by the end of the second quarter.  The third quarter saw BMMI Dilmun A continue to dominate by extending their lead once again to 36-2. 

The fourth quarter saw BMMI Dilmun B try to get some points on their side but only managed four more as their opponents scored another eight that was enough to wrap up the victory.

BMMI Dilmun B’s Hannah Mottram, who plays as a goalkeeper, claimed the player of the match award for her team, while Sarah Mottit, who also plays as a goalkeeper, claimed the award for BMMI Dilmun A.

The second game saw British Club A claim a big win against GNT Sri Lanka 39-6.

The first quarter ended with a 9-4 lead for the British Club A and they expanded it in the second quarter 18-4. 

GNT Sri Lanka managed to score one more point in the third quarter as the British Club A scored another nine to end the quarter leading 27-5. 

The final quarter saw British Club A score 12 points with their opponents only scoring once to end the game with a scoreline of 39-6.

Award

Jennifer Bhaskaran, who plays as center, claimed the player of the match award for GNT Sri Lanka, while Suki Raju, who also plays as a goal attack, claimed it for British Club A. 

The third game saw BMMI Dilmun C fall to defeat against DHL Rugby B with a score of 4-34.. 

BMMI Dilmun C only managed a point in each of their quarters while DHL Rugby B managed to score 11 points in the first quarter, followed by another seven in the second taking their lead to 18-2.

The third quarter saw DHL Rugby B gain another five points while the fourth quarter saw them score another 11 to end the game with a very wide margin. 

The goal shooter of DHL Rugby B, Molly Cramp, was her team’s player of the match as the center player of BMMI Dilmun C, Sarah Welsh, won the award for her team. 

The fourth game of the night saw British Club B being defeated by DHL Rugby A with a score of 39-7.

British Club B failed to score any goals in the first quarter as their opponent managed to take a 9-0 lead. 

British Club B tried to get back into the game during the second quarter as they scored five goals which were not enough to see them compete much as DHL Rugby A scored another 10 to take their lead to 19-5.

DHL Rugby A were determined to win the game early on as they kept scoring 10 goals in each of the third and the fourth quarter as well as their opponents failing to score any more than two goals to add to their tally of five.  

Chantel Cull, center player for British Club B, won the player of the match award for her team as Amani Al Asfoor, who plays as a goal attack for DHL Rugby A, won the award for her team. 

The fifth week fixtures will take place next Tuesday at the British Club.
