Manama, July22 (BNA): Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation (BDSF) Chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Daij Al-Khalifa will lead an official delegation to the Summer Special Olympics, which will open on July 25 in Southern California and run until August 2.
Deputy delegation head Mohammed Al-Maatoug, administrator Khalil Jamal, table tennis team coach Nasser Kawaz, Athletics coach Moussa Hassan, Equestrian coach Sayyed Adnan and other figures will also take part, in addition to 12 players and athletes.
(BDSF) Chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Daij Al-Khalifa stressed the importance of participating in the Special Olympics 2015 World Games, which represent an opportunity to exchange cultures and expertise and keep abreast of other countries’ traditions.
He took part in the meeting of Special Olympics Executive Bureau and the High Organising Committee. Stevie Wonder, Cody Simpson and Avril Lavigne are some of the stars who will perform during in the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games.
The ceremony will also feature performances by Colombian reggaeton artist J. Balvin and Nicole Scherzinger. The inaugural ceremony will be attended by US First Lady Michelle Obama and a host of other stars and sport champions.
