Manama, Aug 20 (BNA) – Under the patronage of Council of Representatives Speaker, Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani, the Representatives’ Secretariat will host the Third Annual Conference of Arab Parliaments (AP)’ Secretaries-General Association on September 17-18.
Council of Representatives Acting Secretary General, Jamal Jassim Zuwayyid, said the conference’s first day’s activities will include a workshop to discuss the social media impact on the parliament’s relationship with the society. The second day will feature the Executive Committee and General Assembly meetings.
The Association of Secretaries-General of Arab Parliaments was established in 1994 on the sidelines of the 92nd IPU Conference in Copenhagen. The move came to reinforce cooperation among Arab parliamentary institutions and to promote and develop the same institutions, as well as to exchange expertise and coordination, in an effort to provide better supportive services for Arab parliaments.
