MANAMA,Sept.14(BNA)- More than 400 participants from 35 countries will take part in the World Youth Conference that Bahrain will host this month.
It will be held from September 21- 23 at The Gulf Hotel Bahrain under the theme “Youth Peace”.
Organised by the General Organisation for Youth and Sport (GOYS) the meet comes within the framework of its full commitment to the principles and culture of peace in the world, especially among young people.
The GOYS president Hisham Al Jowder said they have completed all regulatory procedures to launch this event, which will be held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
“ This large participation underlines the outstanding reputation enjoyed by the Kingdom of Bahrain in backing its young generation and give them a big role in discussing various issues, in addition to the role of the Kingdom in supporting world peace,” said Mr Al Jowder.
He also said that the conference, which will mark the International Day of Peace celebration aims to promote awareness among the youth about the importance of peace and the development .
Mr Al Jowder revealed six main themes to be presented at the conference, the first of which will be on youth peace and basics of life, which will focus on basic concept of peace and identify the roles of the youth.
The second theme highlights youth peace and economic development, where it talks about the importance of peace in supporting economy and the development process.
The third them will discuss youth peace and the media and how to use youth and various media, especially social networking sites to support the peace process.
The fourth theme will talk about the youth of peace and sportsmanship which represents a powerful tool to strengthen ties and promote the ideals of peace. In the fifth theme, there will be discussions on youth peace and human development and the role of youth to clarify the role of peace in human development, justice, equality and accessing international conventions and treaties.
The sixth and final subject will discuss youth peace and the realistic experiences.
Those interested to attend should register their names at the Youth Innovation Centre in Umm Al Hassam, from 4pm to 8pm.
