Bahrain to participate in Mohammed bin Rashid Endurance Championship

Manama, Jan. 7 (BNA): At the directives of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa leader of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Team, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Royal Equestrian and Endurance Team will participate in 160-km Endurance Championship on the Cup of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, alongside with cavaliers from the Arab Gulf states and other parts of the world.

Five Bahraini knights – HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Salman Essa, Raed Mahmoud, Mohammed Al Khatri and Ali Bu Sifer – from the Royal Endurance Team will participate in the competition.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad has expressed delight at the participation of the Royal Endurance Team in this great athletic convergence that brings endurance riders from several countries. Our riders’ participation aims to contribute to the successfulness of the event that carries a darling name to all of us, and to gain more expertise in the endurance sport, His Highness said.

His Highness affirmed keenness on participation and presence in this event with our Emirati brethren and knights from all over the world. The presence of elite horse-riders during the championship of HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum provides the opportunity to interact with them during the race which will be fast and powerful, technically-speaking.

His Highness said the competition is expected to take place in the best image commensurate with its namesake and to reflect the advanced level of endurance sports in the region who ranked top during various international championships.
