Bahrain to submit 3rd National Report in November 2016

Manama, Dec.27 (BNA): The Government of Bahrain intends to submit the 3rd National Report to the UN Human Rights Council in November 2016. The Foreign Ministry said that the report, currently under preparation, would hopefully be reviewed in the first quarter of 2017. In a statement today, it debunked the fallacies cited in an article published in Al-Wasat newspaper yesterday (December26).

In an article titled “Three human rights issues for the new year”, Abdulnabi Al-Ekri claimed that the Kingdom of Bahrain demanded the postponement of its review until 2017. The Foreign Ministry convened the first national consultation session on the 9th of September 2015 as part of preliminary preparations to draft the 3rd National Report.
