Bahrain will stay prime investment hub: PM

Bahrain’s Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa  has declared that the government will spare no efforts to ensure that the kingdom remained a prime destination for investments.

Speaking after inaugurating the 2014 edition of the Gulf Industry Fair at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC), he highlighted the efforts of the government, which he said braved all challenges to ensure continuous economic growth.

“Bahrain has still enough credentials and capacity to attract leading international companies,” he said.

“The government is sparing no efforts for Bahrain to remain a prime destination and favoured incubator for GCC and global industrial investments,” he pointed out.

He pledged to continue efforts to streamline procedures and remove obstacles hampering investors’ access to Bahraini markets.

The Premier toured the fair, which has become a key business enabler for the regional industrial sector. The exhibition is being organised by Bahrain-based Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE), a subsidiary of Al Hilal Group.

He stressed the government’s drive to develop the industrial sector, update laws, upgrade infrastructure and enhance Bahrain’s standing as an investment hub.
 
The Premier also commended the quality of the fair which showcases world-standard products and cutting edge technologies and wished the organisers every success.

He stressed the importance of developing investment environment and motivating the private sector through an attractive package of incentives so as to play a pivotal role in spurring economic growth.

He urged Bahraini industrialists to commit to world quality standards so as to have enough clout to compete in global markets, calling for viable partnership between the public and private sectors.

The Premier outlined efforts to revitalise the national economy, including setting up of additional industrial towns and locate more land for industrial investments.

Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director of HCE, said: “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to His Royal Highness the Prime Minister for once again lending his support to Gulf Industry Fair.

“After almost a year of meticulous planning, the doors have now opened and the sense of energy and anticipation is palpable as we look to offer the ultimate business-enabler for the Northern
Gulf’s industrial sector. We look forward to three days of networking and deal making among exhibitors and visitors.”

The seventh Gulf Industry Fair will run till Thursday.
