The promotion of the existing cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the
Islamic Development Bank
Group, including the possibility of
IDB
‘s contribution to two urban development projects in Bahrain, was discussed at the meeting. The Bahraini Minister underlined the great significance the Kingdom of Bahrain attaches to the two projects. She further commended the strong relations between the
IDB Group
and the Kingdom of Bahrain noting the significant contributions by the
IDB Group
to numerous vital development projects in various sectors.

The
IDB Group
Chairman, for his part, expressed pleasure over the well-established level of cooperation between the Group and the Kingdom of Bahrain, as a founding member of the
Islamic Development Bank
. Dr. Ali expressed confidence that the visit by Her Excellency Shaikhah bint Mohammed Al Khalifah would add an important building block to the ongoing cooperation between the two sides.

To date, the total amount of approved
IDB Group
financing in Bahrain stands at US$ 2.7 billion inclusive of contributions to development projects in education, power generation, agriculture and water supply, as well as foreign trade operations.
