Prior to the live screening of the third/fourth place playoff tomorrow, the Supreme Committee for Delivery Legacy will be celebrating the traditional Garango night of the holy month of Ramadan at the Brazil 2014 Fan Zone at Katara.
The night will feature special guest Hala Al Turk, Bahrain’s brightest star singer, who will perform live.
Garango is traditionally celebrated on the 14th night of Ramadan where children get dressed up in traditional and colourful clothing, visit homes in their neighbourhood and collect sweets and nuts. The night is also celebrated with traditional songs, some of which will be performed live by the young star.
“We have a special night planned for the families on Saturday,” said Jawaher al- Khuzaei, Public Relations Manager at the Supreme Committee for Delivery Legacy. “The Kids’ Corner features special activities, face painting and a soft play area. We are encouraging guests to come in traditional clothing and to experience a very special night for the Qatari and regional community,” said Al- Khuazaei.
On a night ideal for families to celebrate, the Fan Zone will be themed around Qatari and Arabian Gulf traditions and customs, where guests will be given candy and other sweets. Before and after the live broadcasts, there will be a variety of other entertainment suitable for the entire family.
Doors for the event open at 9pm; to attend visit Doha Exhibition Centre to get a ticket for the event and enjoy the festivities. Since demand for the Fan Zone has been high, organisers have urged visitors to get there as early as possible to secure a place.
