Bahraini-Swiss cooperation discussed

Manama, Dec. 14. (BNA) — Labour Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan received here today the Swiss Honorary Consul-General to the Kingdom of Bahrain Humbert Vincent Buemi.

Humaidan lauded the solid bilateral ties, enhanced by joint cooperation in all fields, especially labour.

They reviewed ways of boosting cooperation and exchanging successful experiences in the fields of labour market reform and workers’ protection.

The Minister informed the Consul-General about Bahrain’s efforts in launching and implementing the ongoing initiative in order to secure decent work opportunities and improve their productivity as well as the government’s support for developmental projects aimed at regulating the labour market.


The Swiss Honorary Consul-General congratulated the Minister on the royal trust, hailing the advanced level of bilateral relations and Bahrain’s development in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, especially regarding labour laws and workers’ rights.


He wished Bahrain further prosperity and progress, affirming Bahrain’s prestigious status in the international forums, thanks to the leadership’s keen interest to develop the integrated system of the labour market and bolster joint cooperation with specialised global organisations and active participation in regional and international conferences and events.
