Bahrain’s constant steps in boosting human rights praised

Manama, Sept. 3 (BNA)– Human Rights Minister Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman received today Head of the Arab League Human Rights Committee Dr. Hedi bin Ali Al-Yami and his accompanying delegation who are taking part in an induction workshop on the Arab Charter on Human Rights and the work mechanism adopted by the public and private sectors.

The minister underlined the need to boost cooperation between the Human Rights Ministry and the Arab League Human Rights Committee to bolster awareness of human rights in the Arab World. He emphasised Bahrain’s pioneering steps in promoting human rights, citing mainly the royal initiative to set up an Arab Human Rights Court. He said Bahrain is taking constant steps forward in fostering freedoms and human rights, being a cornerstone of the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The audience lauded the major role played by the Human Rights Ministry to carry out the national missions assigned with it, expressing keenness on more coordination regarding human rights issues and ways of preserving human dignity.
