Bahrain’s delegation partakes in 33rd Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers …

Amman, Dec 15 (BNA) — Minister of Social Development, Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al-Balushi, led Bahrain’s delegation in the 33rd Ordinary Session of the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers being held from 15 – 16 December in Jordan.

The first day meeting discussed a number of topics, including evaluation of the activities of the Arab Fund for Social Action from 2009 – 2012, preparations for the Fourth Arab Economic and Social Development Summit to be held in January of 2015 in Tunisia, Programs, projects and activities of the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers for the years 2013 and 2014, activation of Arab poverty reduction strategy, development of projects of productive families and small projects, in addition to issues related to persons with disabilities, family and childhood.

The meeting also discussed supporting social projects in Member States, activating the social and developmental action of the Economic and Social Council and providing support for the Arab States hosting Syrian refugees.

Al-Balushi stressed this participation comes from Bahrain’s interest in promoting the joint Arab and Gulf action and bolstering mutual cooperation to push Arab and Gulf social action.
