MANAMA: Bahrain’s use of green technologies in making buildings environmentally friendly will be highlighted at a major international event next year.

The third edition of the Arabian MEP (Mechanical Engineering Plumbing) Conference and Exhibition will also showcase the higher energy efficiency, greener products and sustainable technologies that have accelerated the pace at which new products and innovations are launched in the market.

The event, at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, will be held under the patronage of Works Minister Essam Khalaf from March 17 to 19 and will bring together professionals and experts from the HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) industry from the region and beyond.

“Builders and developers are investing a lot in achieving higher levels of energy efficiency in their buildings and Bahrain is taking a lead in the field,” said event organiser Exposure Media managing director Sijo Joseph.

“This event will discuss such technologies in detail and update builders and developers with the latest in the field and their use.”

He said key leaders and decision-makers of the MEP industry will organise live demonstrations on the show floor and take part in educational programming and networking opportunities.

“In its previous editions, the show has highlighted breakthrough technologies and innovative ideas focussed on promoting the most advanced equipment and technology. It will continue on the same pattern.”

Among those attending will be those involved in manufacturing of HVACR and allied equipment and components, mechanical and plumbing contractors, architects and designers as well as public utility providers and government agencies.

More than 100 exhibitors had taken part in the show earlier this year where several initiatives by the government and public sector were discussed.

Business deals worth $380 million were concluded during the show, which was attended by more than 3,500 visitors.

“We have had very successful two shows and expect this one to be bigger and better,” said Mr Joseph.

“The business that has been concluded earlier is testimony to the fact that business in Bahrain is well and truly back on track after passing through a difficult period.”

He said the support from the Works Ministry had been of great significance and was a major contributor towards making the events a success.
